Coffee shop

Brunch restaurant

Milk & Honey is a charming coffee shop on the North Shore of Chattanooga. The mouth-watering gelato and breakfast options make it a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. The renovated Milk & Honey offers more seating and a full bar, making it perfect for weekend brunch.

Enjoyed an AMAZING breakfast here today. This was our first visit here (it won't be our last) and, with a very creative and varied menu, we were eager to try several different dishes; all were fantastic!! The specialty coffees were delicious and all can be offered as defecaffinated upon request; my sister said her decaff burnt sugar latte was amazing. While I haven't tried it, my sister says that their coffee gelato is the best she's ever tasted. The pork conft poutine and the ricotta and honey "sharables" were the stars if our meal. They also offer a juices, a mimosas menu and other specialty cocktails. This place has a really relaxed, inviting, and pleasant atmosphere; service was on point...attentive, helpful, and cheerful. Portions are very generous, so plan on asking for a box for leftovers. Seating is offered both indoor and outdoor. We were there early on a Saturday morning and parking was no issue (a rare treat for that plaza) since most other stores and Taco Mamacita were nor yet open.

Came in to go to the aquarium and wanted breakfast... found this by chance. Super happy we did.Biscuits are big, fluffy and taste like the ones you used to get at grandma's house. Fried chicken was peppery and perfectly cooked. Was a little disappointed that they didn't have homemade jelly.Turkey club was toasted and buttery with plenty of meat.Coffee was smooth, not over roasted.Pros: Atmosphere, friendly staff, decent prices, plenty of seating, convenient located downtownCons: Busy, no where near me, no homemade jelly

Milk & Honey is a charming breakfast and brunch restaurant located in Chattanooga, TN. One of their standout dishes is the buttermilk biscuits with honey, which are absolutely divine. During my visit, I enjoyed an Americana coffee with almond milk, and the rich hints of caramel were delightful. The service was prompt and efficient, with a server who was attentive to our needs. The coffee shop atmosphere was adorable, and they even had souvenirs available for purchase. Although the mushroom omelet I ordered was just okay for my taste, as it was quite spicy, I did appreciate the flavorful home fries. Vegetarian options are offered on the menu, and they also have a few non-dairy milk choices and typical sugar substitutes. Considering all factors, I believe the price was fair, and I would definitely consider returning for another visit.

Milk & Honey was a mixed experience for us.We ordered the turkey and brie sandwich, fried chicken sandwich, and arugula salad. While the turkey and brie had a nice combination of flavors, the bread was a bit too dense, making it hard to enjoy. The fried chicken sandwich was average but lacked the crunchiness of a good fried chicken batter and seasoning we were hoping for.The arugula salad was great - fresh and the dressing was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was friendly, but overall, the food didn’t quite live up to our expectations. It’s a decent spot for a casual meal, but nothing we’d rush back for. Especially when it’s over an hour wait.

Great food & coffee option, perfect for breakfast/brunch. They do get really busy on the weekend, so plan accordingly. If you like things hot & spicy, do try their hot chicken & waffles!! They’re not messing around 🌶 🌶

At first glance, you'd think this was one of those fancy drinks and tiny brunch leave hungry types of joints, but that's completely wrong. It's still pretty fancy - presentation is wonderful, the inside is spacious and clean, and they serve coffee in a million ways, but man do they deliver. We had the Chicken and Waffles, and Mr. Croissant, and both were amazing. Portions were filling, prices were reasonable, and the food and drinks are excellent. We even picked up some Gelato, which was a great way to finish off a meal.

Family-friendly Atmosphere. This place is ridiculously packed and busy on a Saturday morning with over an hour waiting time to be seated. We ordered to go after waiting 45 min so we wouldn't miss our Chattanooga river tour. The food is good 👍 😋 👌 and everything we order was delicious. Good selection of herbal teas, natural drinks, and local Berries. I'd definitely recommend and will be returning.

Second time here. Some of the best breakfast that we've had in this area the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles are actually spicy which is awesome! Service has been great both times will return every time we are here.

Our server, Keller, was pleasant and very efficient. Had the roasted mushroom omelette and fruit - - delicious! The flavors of the spicy roasted mushrooms, roasted peppers, goat gouda, and parmesan melded together were incredible. The edges of the omelette were a bit overcooked for my liking, but it didn’t affect the flavor at all. I was concerned that it would, but it didn’t. My only observation was that the coffee wasn’t as hot as I like, but that didn’t take away from my meal, ambiance, or service. Thanks for a great meal! Oh, and their hot sauce is incredible. In fact, I bought two bottles for home.

The restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was very nice and helpful with suggestions since it was our first time visiting. We had the Valencia oj and lavender honey latte. Both were delicious! We have the rose waffles with home fries and a side of fried chicken and the hodgepodge hash. 10/10

Had one of the best breakfast experiences I've had in a while.GF and i havent been back to milk and honey since they moved back to north shore. We stopped by and got a couple of sandwiches. They were very busy and we're still able to get things going. The sandwich was very very good when we arrived home. This is more that just a coffee shop now. We will def be back.

I absolutely loved my meal here. I got the hodgepodge hash and an iced lavender honey latte.... Talk about delicious!! I wish my stomach could've held more food because that hash was incredible. Our waiter, Olivia, was awesome and catered to our every need. I don't live in Chattanooga but I will be stopping here every time we visit!

The hotel mentioned for a good breakfast to go to Milk & Honey. The food and service were good. I had always wanted to try a traditionally southern chicken and waffles, and it was just ok. Chicken was small and a little dry. The honey butter biscuits were unique and tasteful. I'll another menu item next time.

Came for breakfast, but got a whole lot of yummy! Ordered a Crossaint and added chicken to it and couldn't believe my eyes... but I knew I would eat every last bite! And I did. Don't forget to use a little of their honey hot sauce on your order... it brings a sutble sweetness to any dish. Don't know when I'll be back in Chattanooga... but when I am... I'll be stopping here again.

I loved coming here with my family, such a fun atmosphere, it’s more than just breakfast! Their service is definitely amazing, I think I can seem a bit overwhelming with so many people all over, but overall it was GREAT! The food is pretty outstanding, they also have Niedlov’s sourdough which is my favorite! I would highly recommend this place as one of my top 5 breakfast places in Chattanooga!☕️😊🙌🏻💛🐄🍯 they also have gelato and pastries! great outside seating, fun to get gelato, brunch, breakfast, lunch, and have some of the best coffee. I enjoyed my latte and would come here again🤍

Such a cute place and had excellent service despite being so busy! I love their logo and the plating was so pretty! The waffles were a little soft and the Alabama Pork Biscuit white sauce was a little sour for my personal taste. I would maybe try something else if I were to come back but overall a good experience. Thank you!

Good food, chicken is very greasy but still had great flavor! Great coffee! Be prepared for a wait time on a table but moves fast and you can grab a drink and or pastry while you wait.

Abigail J — Google review

This place was a cute and fast getting us seated on a late Friday morning. The coffee was super good! I ordered the chicken biscuit and unfortunately found a bone in my chicken. The biscuit was super hard and not fresh. The manager talked to us and seemed embarrassed about the situation. He gave us a 15$ off and removed my food and the server was super sweet but didn’t check on our food once we got it to the table. I was super disappointed because this place looked so cute!

Audrey D — Google review

Food was ok. I asked for eggs over medium well, but they were still runny. The honey on the toast was running into my eggs. The bacon on the side came on the same plate. Had to ask for sugar and cream and we got 5 for 2 people. Never asked if we wanted/needed a refill of coffee, but the potatoes were good. The biscuits and honey were hard. For the price for breakfast your better off going somewhere else. Parking is free, but not many spots plus small spaces.

M C — Google review

What a festive treat! Christmas music flowing, servers dressed for the holidays and the best white chocolate latte!! The Hodgepodge Hash was absolutely awesome, made our hair stand straight up awesome!! Can’t recommend this place enough!!

We stopped here for brunch for the first time and the service was fast and in point. Food was great and coffee was strong. Will come back and recommend. Also, child friendly for my 2yo.

Tuti — Google review

The atmosphere is really nice; it's a charming cafe with many seating options, including a patio. The food is good, but our experience could have been better. Our server didn't write anything down as we ordered and had to come back to verify. Our lattes were not hot when they arrived. And my Nashville hot chicken biscuit, while delicious and flavorful, was uncomfortably spicy; I was unable to finish it. Be warned that it's spicier than other hot chicken. All in all, this is a great place for brunch, but I won't be getting the Nashville hot chicken from here anymore.

Great place and wonderful staff. Very attentive and friendly. Ordered the vegan breakfast burrito....Amazing! Would highly recommend this place.

I’m writing this review from the parking lot because I couldn’t wait to review my brunch experience at Milk & Honey today. Everything was excellent from start to finish! I walked in around 11:00 am and was seated immediately. I ordered a hot caramel macchiato & the big kid breakfast. Food came out fast & everything was delicious! My favorite part was probably the breakfast potatoes - whatever seasoning they put on those is excellent. Coffee was outstanding and enjoyed every sip. Gabby & Jesse provided top-notch service and were very attentive throughout my meal. 5 stars across the board, can’t wait to come back for more!

Very nice atmosphere. The pork and sauce on the Alabama biscuit tasted wonderful and the potatoes are cooked crispy and salty. The biscuits are made in house and you can tell, they’re soft and buttery. The sourdough is tasty as well. I could have eaten two entrees to be honest.Their chai latte is also 11/10 wayyy better than Starbucks. Good spot.

The brunch game is strong here. If the regular lines don't convince you, the food certainly will. We were lucky enough to snag a table without a wait one weekend, and had one of the most delightful morning meals we've ever had in Chattanooga. I ordered the Big Kid breakfast, which came with well-crisped bacon, eggs your way (with optional cheese), a bowl of juicy berries, and a few slices of the famous Niedlov sourdough. Everything was hot and well done, especially the home fries, which tasted like chunks of seasoned, straight-out-of-the-fryer French fries - the optimal form of home fry, in my opinion. My husband's prosciutto, egg, and smoked mozzarella sandwich immediately prompted him to crow about his love for prosciutto and ask things like, "Why don't we ever make this at home? It's delicious!" At our server's recommendation, he added the optional fried chicken to his meal (for an added charge of $5), but after tasting it, I'd say it's almost mandatory. It's crispy, beautifully seasoned, and a sinfully good addition to any breakfast plate here. The hot honey on the table was something else. My husband experimentally drizzled some onto a piece of fried chicken, chewed thoughtfully, and clearly enjoyed it because in the next breath, he'd upturned the bottle and drizzled some over the rest of his plate. It was good enough that we inquired about whether it was possible to take some home. If you're also curious, it's available for sale by the ounce and our server was kind enough to MacGyver us a spill-proof container so that we wouldn't lose any along our travels home. There are some tables available outside, which might cut down on the waiting time if it's nice weather, but it's clear that the brunch atmosphere is best indoors, with the bustle of the crowds and the smells of coffee and pastries wafting in from the adjoining cafe.

This place in Atlanta is everything! Unfortunately, me thinking that would be the case here was found untrue. There was so much that initially took place that this review would be 2-3 pages long. Keeping it brief, 1.Our server was pretty bad. Not very attentive and seemed like he didn’t care to get it right. 2. We had to send orders back to be corrected twice 3. We had to remind him of missing parts of our order as well. 4. Things we requested were completely overlooked until reminded again. Now the food once we finally got it right. My kids somewhat enjoyed the French fries. DO NOT EVER ORDER A GRILLED CHEESE FYI 🙅🏾‍♂️ (Horrible) We originally ordered that for the kids and there was nothing grilled about it! It came out cold and dry and just bad! Honestly, after the horrible experience the night before with Mellow Mushroom everyone was so hungry and this could easily have given this location a pass honestly. The manager eventually came and apologized (we hadn’t requested one) so it was nice to see they took notice themselves of the mishaps and things. The chicken and waffles were not that bad but wasn’t that great either. Way more edible than Mellow mushroom 🤷🏾‍♂️ Although the initial food experience wasn’t so great the staff was friendly and the gelato is pretty good. Overall for what you’re gonna pay for your food, there are way better options to feel better about spending your money. Ultimately, I didn’t feel satisfied with my cost to satisfaction ratio if that makes sense. I gave three stars because of an attempt to address the concerns but for what we paid, we were not happy overall.

A friend and I came to grab some breakfast before we went rafting later in the day. The service was amazing as our waitress Sandy was on top of it! We had a terrible experience at the Milk & Honey in Nashville before but this location met all expectations and the food was 10/10. Before being sat down I asked for recommendations and another waiter Julian suggested ordering the Hodgepodge Hash with a chicken breast added for $5 and it was very flavorful with a bit of a kick. My friend ordered the BLT with a kale salad.

One of the best breakfast experiences we have ever had. Jules did an incredible job. He was friendly, efficient, and always there. Atmosphere was bustling but not overstimulating. Fresh flowers on the table- food was cooked to perfection. The appetizer we got (ricotta w/ honey on sourdough) was by far my favorite. Coconut latte was divine.

We absolutely enjoyed Milk & Honey. On our way home to Atlanta from Nashville and stopped here for brunch. We just beat the rush. We sat outside which was perfectly lovely. Our server Ava, was terrific, providing recommendations of her faves and fan faves. She was so welcoming and attentive. Now for the food, we started with lattes and croissants and honestly this place is worth visiting just for the croissants. My partner had the pistachio and inside it had some sort of pistachio cream which was straight out of a dream. I had a plain croissant and it was divine; so buttery and flaky. Then we both had an omelet and the rose waffle. The omelets were thin but packed so much flavor. I love an omelet that’s well seasoned! The rose waffle was okay, I did not really enjoy the rose syrup. As a total meal, it was fantastic and has encouraged me to try the Milk and Honey near me.

Wonderful. Such a good vibe and lovely comfort food. The avocado toast was shockingly hearty and delicious. The bartender recommended the hodgepodge hash. The chipotle cream was perfectly spicy. So good!Pastries are made in house. Got a strawberry pop tart and fell in love!Matt at the bar was so welcoming and helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough. Get a seat at the bar and chat to a local!

They were busy and it was crowded, but the food was delicious. If you love veggies, you must try the curry cauliflower dish. It is wonderful. I wish I had the recipe.

We were given a 15 gift card while out of town for our anniversary. Ava was our server and she was friendly and helpful. My wife and I both got a specialty coffee and the chicken and waffle dish, home fries were a touch of tang and a bit of sweetness from the Maple syrup. From start to finish it was an excellent experience and meal!!Thank you Ava and milk and honey!!

Sat at our both for easy 10 minutes while at least 20 servers passes us. Finally, a nice Rehhead (lady) server stopped and brought us waters and grabbed our waiter, who was one of the ones that was oblivious to us. The server checked on us and asked how everything was then was like "oh, let me go see if your food is done. Food came out, hubby's eggs were burned, and potatoes tasted like 4 day old reheated bad oil. Never saw our server till I flagged him down. This point, hubby left to go to the truck to google food near us. The manager came over and did us hoof, but the damage was done. Sadly, I will never come here again.

Amazing food and service!I ordered the Hot Mess with no cheese and it was AMAZING. It was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! It was so flavourful and fresh! Also, our server and all the employees were super friendly!

This place was pretty good. Only thing I recommend is the waiter being more attentive. It took him awhile to take our order and check on us after…The mimosas were very good as well!

There may be many things one looks for when searching for the ideal breakfast or brunch establishment, with a variety of options that speak to all; and ideally that has the space to accommodate all. Often we find ourselves somewhere that is popular because of its location and the aesthetic set, even if that set up is not memorable. Finding the best location for a business can be a difficult task, but there are many gems out there, with potential to bring in business. Milk & Honey, being located just across from the bridge of the bustling downtown Chattanooga, is right off the street full of antique shops and boutiques that attract the same customers who would occupy this same space due to its look and what is served. We have a loft-like interior with an open ceiling, neon signs, some wood and plastic fixtures, and brunch food. Also, the servers are pretty young. I did notice families gathering, but there were plenty of younger adults meeting up to enjoy Milk & Honey. When arriving, there was already a crowd; tables filled up, nose from loud talking and laughter. I found myself lined up right at the door, waiting to get to the front only to ask how long the wait would be. Luckily, I was told ten to fifteen. Ended up waiting just under ten. Not bad. My partner and I were also very lucky to be given a seat by the window to take in the nice warmth of the sun and be a bit outside of the crowded tables that seemed spaced just enough to get to and from where one needed to go. The chairs are relatively comfortable and the metal table was large enough for us. While waiting for our server we tried to pinpoint the type of vibe the place had. To be honest, I am still not sure. There was nothing that stood out to us with everything there. Even the flying cow felt like a footnote. After receiving our water, and coffee for my partner, we went through the nice sized menu and made our decisions. It is always appreciated when there is not an overwhelming list of options, and the menu's design matched decently with what the place was going for, whatever that is. They do some of the decision making for you by limiting how each item is made. Waffles cone with chicken, with rose, or as a side. That is it. I would say in most cases I like that, and this is one of those instances. We went ahead and ordered our food: rose asked for me and a side of waffles for my partner. Food got to our table within fifteen minutes, could have been sooner.Waffles are basic, I know, and when ordering something like this, what does one expect. They are sweet and fluffy, maybe with some crisp edges if the cooks know what they are doing. The rose waffles had a slightly different touch, being made with rose and coming with rose syrup. The waffles were presented with cut strawberries and whipped cream. I was pleased with its look, and could get a whiff of that alcohol. From the very first bite, I was satisfied. Again, there is not much special about a waffle, and the special rose mix does not change the simplicity of a waffle; however, it is different from many other places, and for anyone who has tried food made with alcohol, oftentimes the cooks have too much fun. I've had my share of liquored up foods that contain more alcohol than food. This was not the case. The rose complimented the meal, and never tried to take over the experience. I enjoyed my meal, and my partner appreciated hers. After a good breakfast (maybe it was brunch) we paid the bill, which was modestly priced, and went about our day, full. We were very lucky to have such a kind server. If you happen to be just Northside of the river, maybe this place can be on your list.
