>> whit: thank you both. we'll check in with you in a bit. >> rhiannon: back here in the states, two major drug cartel leaders are facing charges for leading the criminal operations and we'll have more details on that coming up. >> gio: first, the wildfires raging in the west. thousands forced to flee their homes, the biggest fire in california right now. it's in the rapidly growing park fire. let's go back to jaclyn lee in chico. >> reporter: gio, good morning to you. firefighters are resting up before redeploying to the frontlines. this as governor gavin newsom declaring a state emergency. this morning an astonishing chaotic wildfire raging out of control, scorching more than 300,000 acres across northern california. the park fire, burning in california's butte county is the state's largest fire so far this year. this as firefighters struggle to gain an upper hand with 0% contained.

at least 134 structures destroyed and more than 4,000 people evacuated. firefighters across the state descending on the city of chico at a newly created base camp working up to 36-hour shifts to contain flames in the north that have turned the sky into a fiery red for miles. we are seeing a crew deploying here ready to cut lines, trying to get this under control. you can see the flames burning here. the wind is creating this billowing smoke. this appeared within a matter of seconds showing all the conditions firefighters are dealing with just struggling to contain the fire. and our kayna whitworth also on the scene as cal fire uses every available asset to tame this inferno. >> look at right there, so they're doing major phos-chek drops in this area because the fire continues to jump its major containment line, so they're relying heavily on this air attack right now. >> reporter: the hardest

towns including cohasset and forest ranch, a haunting reminder for jen robbins who lost it all in the camp fire in the nearby town of paradise. >> we lost our home, vehicles, pets, everything. >> reporter: after smoke turned the sky black earlier this week, robbins fleeing down the highway with her young daughter only to encounter what she calls a couple of fire. >> we just started crying because it -- we already have ptsd from the camp fire so it brought up a lot of emotions and memories and what ifs. >> reporter: as for the cause of the fire, officials arrested a 42-year-old man for suspected arson. he will be arraigned in court monday where he'll face charges. rhiannon? >> rhiannon: and this morning two mexican drug cartel leaders are in federal custody facing a slew of drug trafficking charges. and arrested with him, the son of el chapo, another former cartel leader and perry russom joins now from washington with more on this. good morning, perry. >> reporter: rhiannon, good morning. fbi director christopher wray

says ismael zambada also known as el mayo and joaquin guzman lopez the son of el chapo, have been evading law enforcement for decades now accused of overseeing the trafficking of tens of thousands pounds of cocaine, heroin, meth and fentanyl into the u.s., making billions of dollars. now they're in u.s. custody. el mayo is the leader of the mexican sinaloa cartel, what prosecutors say is one of the most violent and powerful drug trafficking organizations in the world. a homeland security investigations official said the operation to arrest el mayo had been planned for months. they say he was lured into custody by a senior ranking member and he thought he was being flown to a secret airfield in mexico, but instead he was flown to an air strip close to el paso, texas. when he landed he was arrested along with the son of el chapo. el mayo had his first court appearance yesterday morning in texas pleading not guilty to multiple charges. guzman is in trial next week in

as an alternative get yourself out and meet people doing real-life things that you like -- kayaking, running, hiking, whatever. >> rhiannon: i love that, get out in real life. it's been a long time since the three of us have been on the dating scene. >> whit: 18 years here. >> rhiannon: luckily we have a question from a viewer, a good question from gaya. let's listen. >> enjoying dates in the summer is hard. how do i know if the relationship is moving forward at a good pace? >> rhiannon: good question. how do you know if it's moving forward? >> you want to make sure it's not too slow and not too fast so for the first month one date a week with this person. after that, the second and the third month, ramp it up to two dates a week. by 15 dates, that's our 15-date rule, have the conversation about exclusivity, put a title on it. >> gio: yeah, i didn't follow that advice. i moved very, very fast. another viewer question from matt. check it out. >> i'm 56 years old and just getting back in the dating world. what should i know and expect in

and the embarcadero at 5:15 a.m, so you can expect street closures in that area and public transit to be rerouted. you can find a full list of the service changes over on muni's website. all right. how's it looking outside, lisa? >> well, with our widespread low clouds and fog, that's steady onshore flow continues and it's cool out there. gray everywhere it is 57 in half moon bay, 61 in hayward. temperatures came down yesterday even more so today. it is 60 by the delta. a southwest wind over 25 miles an hour, and anywhere from 12 to 17 degrees cooler than yesterday. so once the clouds peel back, we'll begin to see the temperatures come up. but it's going to be another ten degrees cooler than yesterday's upper 80s and even 90s in some spots. so 76 today in livermore. look for 71 up in napa and temperatures in the 60s with very little clearing in parts of the bay shore today. but we'll see a warm up. we'll talk about that coming up a little bit later. stephanie.
